Is that not amazing! Ive never seen anything like it!
A few days later we were asked if we would mind going to Tulum to pick up the Cake , we said sure, so on the night of the party we headed to Aukumal to pick up Rodolfo´s other sister(she knew where the cake place was), Chad,Rodolfo, the girls and I all headed to Tulum. We figured we had all the back of the van open so we would have tons of room.
Well when we got there we found out that the cake lady had company unexpectantly show up so the cake was not even close to being ready and to top it off ,it was not only one cake but 15 cakes!!!!!!! and a stand and misc other decorations(like a fountain)
So we somehow managed to pack it all in( 6 people and 15 cakes) and get it back to Aukumal, with Keltie having only a few heart attacks(Rodolfo kept bumping the icing LOL)

The cake was a tres leche cake(they pour milk in the cake) so when we got there we all had cake leaking all over our hands, legs etc.....ahhh Mexico :)
Thankfully the lady who made the cake was coming on the collectivo(Mexican bus system) to set up the cake with extra icing to do touch ups!

We then went over to Rodolfo´s house to clean up as the church ceremony had already started.
When we got there Rodolfo´s brother was busy cooking away and had a nice fire going in the front of the house to cook the carrots

While we were there a bunch of their Family from the Yucatan showed up all piled in the back of a pick up truck to surprise Amayarni.
I asked Rodolfo where they were all going to sleep (they have a REALLY tiny house with 12 people already in it) and he doesn't look concerned at all and says they´ll figure that out later!
About 11:30 people really started to show up at the party and after 12:00 is when they served dinner, had a video presentation of her life so far and Amayrai did her traditional dances. It was really interesting!
At 3am they hadnt even stated to dance yet! they had a HUGE DJ system with two video screens! the music was BLASTING (and this is in a outdoor arena)

But dont worry there were two other parties going as well each on either sides of the town so NO ONE was sleeping that night!
We decided to head home just after 3am. The boys were already asleep in the van and I could no longer keep my eyes open even with all the noise! LOL (I guess that´s how the Mexican´s do it afterall! they have so many people coming and going from their houses so they dont hear anything when they sleep!
It was a great evening, I'm so glad we get to experience all these fun Mexican traditions.....and yes we were the ONLY white people there! :)
Oh....and guess what time the party finished at......7am!!!!!!
