The PaaMul Dance Company

Link to PaaMul Dance Company

When you come to Paamul Dancing is just a way of life, I have never been to so many dances in my entire life. Not only do we have weekly dancing here in Paamul but dancing is huge in the Mexican culture. The funny thing about it is when your in Paamul(with mostly gringos) the dancing ends at 11:30ish and if your dancing with the Mexicans you don´t start until 11:30(or later)
Anyway...well our friend Lisa came over one day( the lady who DJ´s the dances and Karaoke) and had this idea that we should all learn the Thriller Dance(about 8 of us)
So Keltie and Sabie set off you-tubing dance moves and got really excited. The problem however was how do you teach people with no dance background how to dance a dance from the king of dance?
So after MANY hours of planning, cutting and making it easier they came up with a pretty awesome finished product,(Good to know all that money we spent on dance lessons was good for something lol)
Now the Paamul Dance Company has been born. Before we knew it we had homemade matching t-shirts and a white glove to top it off.
From Paa Mul Dance Company
I have to say,you have no idea how popular this is! After we danced our opening dance in Paamul we have Danced in Puerto Adventuras at Gringo Dave's and then again in Paamul at a Wedding. (which we helped decorate for as well)
Each time after we dance we get member´s of the Audience up and teach them the dance for about 5 min then do it all together. (which I think is kind of funny since it took us a MONTH of practicing) Keltie is the ¨team leader¨and gets the Mic and in her ¨recreational director¨ voice(as Chad calls it) explain ´s and counts out the dance.
Anyway we have a good time and everyone really enjoys mixing it up with new things around here. I´m sure we will learn another dance soon so I will keep you posted.
